In the last few days, my iCal has been giving me the following error message when trying to access my Yahoo! Calendar via CalDAV:
The request for account "Yahoo! Calendar" failed.
The server responded with
"502"
to operation
CalDAVAccountRefreshQueueableOperation.
Yahoo! have acknowledged this is a problem on their side:
We are aware of a Calendar (Proxy error) and our engineering team is working to resolve this issue. We apologize for the inconvenience and hope to have it resolved soon.

update 2nd November 2011: I am no longer seeing this error message, and Yahoo! have removed the notice from their help page. Looks like the issue has been resolved!

Same problem here! So frustrating. I tried deleting and recreating the calendar in iCal, to no avail.

Oh man! This has been driving me nuts. I am just happy to find out it isn’t me or my computer. I can stop trying to fix this by creating new calendars.
In trying to sort out an issue with my mail on iMac Lion I went into my BTYahoo account and was immediately presented with a list of items that I could delete. As I didn’t recognise the string CalDAVAccountRefreshQueueableOperation I made the mistake of removing it! As it turns out there does not seem to be a way of restoring the permission for iCal to access the Yahoo site and therefore it will keep returning error 502. Yahoo please help this foolish mortal.
I am happy to hear that this is not just a problem that I am having. I am not happy to have it and I hope that Yahoo gets it done quick. Thanks for the support guys.
I have just gotten the Proxy Error for one of my two email addresses. Yahoo Help is of absolutely no help. When I post the error message, nothing pops up.
The other Yahoomail calendar can be accessed, but somehow someone is posting repetitive events to it. How do I block their access?
Anyone hear anything about a fix? This is really getting annoying. Thx!
I have the same error message when i open iCal since I restored my macbook pro… but its for my home (bell south) email account. I would love to hear about how I can fix this.
Without any explanation, my Yahoo calendar began to properly work again within about one day.

Refresh or Refresh all seems to drive a response but not good!!
The last couple weeks the same error 502 when I try to log into yahoo mail on my blackberry 8025. I,m hearing impaired so stay in touch this way. At the moment I’m abroad and have looked every where online to see where I can report this to Yahoo as its their problem. Ihelp in the Uk is useless as they expect me to ring them having explained the problem which I would think they should automatically report to Yahoo so it can be fixed. How ever having explained the problem they just send a stupid reply in response telling me to ring their UK number and how the costs will be higher from a mobile. Not even mentioning what it would cost from a mobile abroad or what use that would be to a hearing impared Yahoo customer. Any one know how I can put in a complaint to Yahoo and where I can report this error?
same problem. I started to have this problem 2 days ago.
I’ve had this same problem sporadically for months. Eventually the problem seems to just go away, but when it lasts for days it’s really a serious problem when you cannot sync your Yahoo calendars. It started happening again for me three days ago and it was still broken today, so I’ve thrown in the towel and ported everything over to Google Calendar, which has always worked reliably for me. I only wish I had canned Yahoo calendars the first time this happened and saved a lot of headaches.
By the way, it only takes a few minutes to migrate your Yahoo calendar over to Google Calendar and ditch unreliable Yahoo calendar for good. Here is a link:

I had been running parallels 7 with windows Xp on my Mac.
Just started 30 minutes ago.
The ICal bouncing up and down is driving me nuts. Irrespective of clicking ‘stay offline’ or ‘go online’ the problem recurs every couple of minutes.
I have deleted my Yahoo account from my accounts under Preferences but it has made no difference.
However the changes made to iCal on my Macbook or iPhone still appear to sync.
THIS MAY OR MAY NOT BE YOUR SOLUTION: I believe this problem to be related to a similar issue I’ve had with my swbell/at&t email account. I don’t know if this problem extends beyond the AT&T internet providers.
I stumbled upon a fix quite by accident. If you have a yahoo mail ID and are not completely signed out, your Mail or iCal program basically pumps into a message that says “someone is already in this account”. To fix it you need to go into your various yahoo IDs, unlink as many as you can from your other email/calendar accounts, then every time you are in yahoo, make sure you completely sign out. I believe this also accounts for the intermittency of the problem – it works if you have completely signed out, doesn’t work when you haven’t. Please let me know if this helps.
I just went into iCal preferences, and found under “accounts” that two yahoo calendars were listed. Curious because I have never maintained a calendar on any of my five yahoo accounts.
So, I deleted them from the accounts list.
So far, so good!
The server responded with
“502”
to operation CalDAVAccountRefreshQueueableOperation.
Please get this sorted if on your server side.

Delete dead email accounts from iCal prefsand see if that helps.
I get this error whenever I open ICal. I want to get rid of the message and yahoo calendar. I don’ use it anyway and it is more trouble than it is worth.
Correct, go to Yahoo Mail, unlink (remove tick) from your account name at Calendars, sign out and it seems to solve the problem.
step 1: open iCal
step 2: click “Calendars” in the top left corner
step 3: uncheck your account name
step 4: right click your unchecked account name.
step 5: remove your email from calendars
it removes your email from calendars, which you don’t need, and seems to stop the problem!
